The Federal Trade Commission has reported that abusive debt collection practices are at an all time high. Many people do not realize that debt collectors are regulated by a federal law that protects them from abusive practices. This law is designed to keep debt collectors from yelling, cussing, threatening criminal action, and many other actions that can leave people very upset.

Due to the enormous increase in deceptive and abusive practices utilized by debt collectors, the Law Center of Oklahoma was formed to give people a voice.
